August 19, 2024, Fresno, CA: One person was killed and another was injured in a fatal collision that took place at an intersection in Fresno.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, ABC30 reported, a white pickup truck and an SUV were involved in a collision at Chestnut Avenue and University Avenue. The truck was headed north at the time when it collided with the SUV, which was making a turn onto Chestnut.
There were two women in the SUV at the time of the crash. One of them was thrown out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She was tragically pronounced dead while there. The other woman was injured but her condition is not known at this time.
The driver of the pickup truck attempted to flee the scene but was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
