Holding Parties Liable for a Tragic Livermore Tractor-Trailer Accident

Tractor-trailer drivers and trucking companies follow regulations that have been imposed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Though truck drivers are expected to abide by hours-of-service regulations and ensure that their vehicles are up to standard before traveling, this does not always happen. There are many reasons why fatal truck accidents happen every year on our roads, from drunk driving to speeding and more.

Handling both tractor-trailer accident claims and wrongful death claims can be a complex matter. While a family is saying goodbye to a loved one, they could be in the middle of a financial crisis caused by this tragedy. The insurance company is on the truck company’s side and might not be interested in settling for the amount that you have in mind. You should never allow them to bully you into a low settlement offer, which is why it is important that you seek assistance from a lawyer who has your best interests in mind.
