Travel on the busy highways that cut through Fresno can leave motorists at the mercy of reckless drivers. When an accident happens at highway speeds, cars can be thrown across lanes to pull other multiple vehicles into a crash.
Victims can suffer broken bones, concussions, and other Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs). They may not even know they are injured until they arrive at an emergency room and suddenly feel the pain of a fracture or another injury.
Frightening Multi-Car Pileup in Fresno
Multiple cars were part of a dangerous traffic tie-up in northern Fresno Wednesday morning. According to the Fresno Bee, the collision occurred along Highway 41/Yosemite Freeway near the Shaw Avenue exit on May 10, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene sometime after 10:15 a.m. to find that at least four vehicles had crashed in the northbound lanes. One vehicle involved was a Tesla and one car was left smoking after the accident. The wreckage blocked at least two of the lanes of the Yosemite Freeway along the northbound side.
There was no word yet on any injuries involved in the pile-up. California Highway Patrol investigators continue to look into the circumstances that led up to the accident.
Support for Fresno Car Accident Victims
Accident victims can immediately be affected by the shock of what’s just happened to them. That shock can sometimes mask the pain of an injury until later after things have settled down. Victims may have a hairline fracture or a concussion they don’t notice until the adrenaline of a violent impact wears off.
It’s critical that victims see their own doctors after an accident if pain arises a day or two after a crash. They should get checked out even if they’ve already been examined in an emergency room.
Victims who do find they are injured due to another driver’s mistake can seek support for all medical bills and physical therapy sessions. They should ask for reimbursement for the time at work they miss while injured. Injured car accident victims can also seek support for the physical pain and emotional trauma they are put through.
