Wrong-Way Driver Kills Three People in Weekend Fontana Freeway Crash

Three people tragically lost their lives and three others were injured in a wrong-way crash in Fontana over the weekend. KCAL News reports the accident occurred early Saturday morning along the 210 Freeway/Foothills Freeway near the Citrus Avenue exit on January 14, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the accident sometime after 6:30 a.m. They determined that the driver of a 2012 Ford Car was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes. It then collided head-on with a 2001 Lexus SUV.

The drivers of both vehicles were killed in the crash. A female victim in the Lexus was also killed. Three other people in the Lexus were rushed to the hospital with what were described as major injuries.

CHP investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to figure out why the driver of the Ford was on the wrong side of the freeway.

Finding Support for Victims and Families After a San Bernardino County Accident

The families of loved ones tragically claimed in an accident are encouraged to file a wrongful death claim. This important source of support can help close relatives meet the costs of a funeral, emergency response fees, and leftover medical costs.

A spouse, children of the victim, or sometimes the parents of the victim can seek help from the at-fault driver’s car insurer on behalf of the entire family. This lawsuit should also secure financial support for the future as the family copes with the loss of the emotional care and income the loved one will no longer provide.

Surviving victims of frightening accidents must often deal with long and difficult recoveries. A claim for damages can be filed against an insurance company in order to shield the victim from hospital and physical therapy expenses. The claim also demands reimbursement for the time at work the victim has lost. This can include a lifetime of support if a victim is left with a permanent physical disability.
