Pedestrian Accidents Involving Ambulance Company Trucks In Bakersfield

Bakersfield drivers are legally required to monitor every lane of traffic, sidewalks, and crosswalks for pedestrians at all times. They must show a “duty of care” to those on foot due to their vulnerable nature when forced into a collision with a car or truck. This care is especially vital at night when drivers who should be paying more attention to the roadway can sometimes become distracted or unfocused.

A devastating pedestrian collision can be the result. Pedestrians struck by cars can suffer serious injuries and be placed at risk of losing their lives.

Support for Families After a Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident

Families who must grieve the loss of a loved one will, of course, never completely get over the pain of such a tragic accident.

For close relatives, filing a wrongful death lawsuit against an at-fault driver’s insurance company may be the only way help the family avoid a financial crisis. A claim seeks assistance with the costs of a memorial and burial and any leftover medical fees. A wrongful death claim also asks for help in the future when the deceased will no longer be able to support the family with weekly income.

When pedestrians are struck outside of crosswalks, drivers and their insurance companies can still be liable and forced to provide support to the victim’s family. What’s more, when an accident is caused by a driver working for a local company, that company can also have to provide additional economic support to victimized families.
