The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene along West Main Street, just east of Morgan Road south of Ceres. They found a 42-year-old woman from Turlock on the side of the road and attempted life-saving measures. She was later pronounced dead.
CHP investigators determined the pedestrian had been struck by a passing vehicle. The time and date of the initial collision aren’t clear.
