A frighting accident involving a tanker truck and an SUV sent at least one person to the hospital and caused a major fuel spill near Wasco early Friday morning. KGET-TV reports the accident occurred along Kimberlina Road between Root Avenue and Poplar Avenue on May 20, 2022.
The California Highway Patrol says the collision between the big rig and a red Ford Explorer occurred around 6 a.m. The tanker truck, hauling 7,200 gallons of red dye diesel, was left overturned and leaking after the crash.
One person was taken to the hospital with major injuries after the accident. Further information on the victim has not been released.
California Highway Patrol Investigators continue to work to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
