Two people tragically lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision on Saturday night in western Hollister. KION-TV reports the accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. along Highway 156, east of Flint Road on March 19, 2022.
The California Highway Patrol determined a 1995 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on the highway when, for an unknown reason, the driver crossed over the yellow lines. The Honda struck an eastbound Nissan Moreno head-on. The Honda then continued on to strike an eastbound Tesla.
A 71-year old driver and his 63-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Both victims were from Salinas. Word on any other injuries involved was not released. Highway Patrol investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
