Accidents Involving Multiple Trucks in Kern County CA

Highway 99 traffic can be made up of a lot of different types of vehicles. From compact cars all the way up to giant 18-wheelers. And vehicles of all sizes may go beyond the posted speed limit on those long straightaways. A mistake by just one driver can cause a devastating accident for all drivers and passengers traveling in the vicinity.

When those collisions involve large trucks, severe injuries can result. Victims may face long difficult recoveries and have no real idea how their care will be paid for.

Major Injury Reported After Multiple Vehicles Collide on Highway 99 in Kern County

Multiple vehicles were involved in several collisions that left three people injured along Highway 99 south of Bakersfield early Thursday morning. Turnto23.com reported the accident took place around 3 a.m. near Mettler in Kern County south of the Highway 166 interchange on February 17, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol said that six vehicles were involved in four separate crashes in the northbound lanes of Highway 99. Investigators say that three of the vehicles were commercial vehicles. At least one vehicle was sent into the southbound lanes during the collisions but luckily didn’t strike any southbound traffic.

One driver involved suffered major injuries. Two other victims suffered less serious injuries. California Highway Patrol investigators continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the collisions. They don’t believe weather was a factor.

Earning Support for Victims in Kern County Accidents

Victims injured in highway accidents must often deal with days or weeks of rehab and physical therapy just to get back to a normal way of life. This is true for many victims even when injuries appear to be minor at first. Often the shock of the accident can mask the pain of a more serious injury that appears in the days that follow.

Filling a claim for damages against an insurance provider for an at-fault driver can ensure victims get everything they need to pay for medical costs. This compensation should also cover the lost time at work the victims must suffer through financially.

When an accident involves a truck driver at fault, there are other concerns for victims. A claim against one driver may not secure enough in compensation for a full recovery. The company employing that driver could also be found liable in an accident. A claim could also be filed against the trucking company to recover additional support for the victim.
