Wheelchair Pedestrian Accidents On Lotus Lane In Bakersfield CA

Pedestrians in south Bakersfield can travel up to a mile or more without finding a safe crosswalk in order to cross a busy road. This lack of safety is more than just an inconvenience. For someone on foot or using a wheelchair, the absence of safe paths can lead to extreme dangers.

A pedestrian can be forced to cross without a light to depend on to stop the flow of traffic. Careless drivers may not show the caution they are supposed to when they see a pedestrian. That lack of attention can cause serious injuries and even claim a pedestrian’s life.

Finding Help for Families After a Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident

The families of fatal pedestrian accident victims will want to provide a proper memorial service and burial for their loved ones. And that’s one expense they shouldn’t have to cover after a tragedy. An at-fault driver’s insurance company should be held fully accountable for these bills and any emergency response fees stemming from the accident.

Family members can file a wrongful death lawsuit against an at-fault driver’s auto insurance provider to seek help with these costs and more. This civil lawsuit can serve to protect a family from bankruptcy now and in the future when close relatives will be missing the guidance and monetary support a loved one would have continued to provide.

Earning support through a wrongful death claim is possible even if victims weren’t crossing in a crosswalk when they were hit. Drivers are legally responsible for slowing down and showing extreme caution around those on foot and the disabled anywhere they see them. When they don’t show this basic level of care, drivers and their insurance companies can be held accountable.
