Pedestrian Accidents Involving a Hit-And-Run On Shafter Ave in Shafter CA

Pedestrians traveling rural roads in and around Shafter don’t usually have the benefits of any crosswalks or sidewalks to keep them safe. They must trust that drivers are paying full attention to the road and to anyone who may be traveling on foot alongside.

When drivers lose focus on the lanes they can cause devastating accidents for defenseless pedestrians. The tragedy only increases when an at-fault driver decides to leave the scene. This heartless move often delays the help the victim needs and also can free the driver from any financial responsibility.

Securing Help for Families After a Shafter Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Accident

Families should receive immediate support after a tragic pedestrian accident. However, support can be hard to secure when the driver to blame remains unidentified after a hit-and-run.

Fortunately, family members can still earn assistance even if a hit-and-run suspect isn’t captured. Families could call upon their own car insurance policy for help. The victim may have carried uninsured motorist coverage that could help out the family financially at such a difficult time. If the victim did not carry car insurance, he or she may have been covered by a family member’s policy.

When a suspect is apprehended, a wrongful death claim can immediately be filed against the driver’s auto insurance company. This claim would ask for help with the enormous costs of a funeral. It would also seek to replace the income the victim can no longer provide to his or her family in the future.
