One driver lost his life and another driver was seriously hurt in a crash east of Firebaugh in Fresno County Thursday evening. ABC30-TV reports the tragic incident happened around 7 p.m. along Avenue 7 1/2, just west of Firebaugh Boulevard on October 28, 2021.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a Mazda traveling west crossed into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason. The Mazda veered into a head-on collision with a Ford vehicle.
Authorities say the driver of the Mazda, a man in his 50s, died on the scene. The driver of the Ford suffered a broken leg and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
Investigators have not released an update on the hospitalized victim’s condition or an update on what may have led to the collision.
