A man on a motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries after colliding with a vehicle in central Fresno Thursday evening. KFSN-TV reports the accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. along Maroa Avenue near Shields Avenue on July 22, 2021.
Fresno Police say the rider was traveling north when he collided with a van. The victim suffered severe leg injuries and officers had to use a tourniquet to stabilize him. The man, in his fifties, was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center and taken into surgery. He was listed in critical condition.
No one in the van was injured. The driver remained on the scene. Fresno Police Department investigators have not said what led to the crash. They don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
