Support for DUI Accident Victims in Clovis

Chain-reaction accidents can affect many lives and leave victims with financial difficulties as they try to recover physically and financially. Victims could feel they escaped an accident with only minor cuts and scrapes. Then, after the shock and adrenaline of an accident wear off, perhaps the next morning, new pain and a previously undiscovered injury may appear. It’s always a good idea to see your physician in the days after an accident even if you don’t feel you have a major injury.

If you or a loved one discovers a serious injury, it’s also a good idea to discuss your case with a local car accident attorney. The costs of your recovery from any injury should never fall in your lap, especially in an accident caused by a drunk driver. Those medical expenses and the loss of wages you may experience while you miss work should be covered in full by the driver’s insurance provider.

Injury victims are permitted to submit a claim for damages to the at-fault driver’s insurance company any time up to two years from the date of the collision. This civil claim can move forward even as a DUI suspect faces criminal proceedings. The civil and criminal cases would advance separately so that crash victims can secure the compensation they need to recover as quickly as possible.
