Liability in Head-On Collisions in Santa Barbara County CA

Head-on collisions can be devastating for victims in many ways. The forces involved in an impact that combines vehicles’ speeds can be immensely powerful. The shock of such an accident can also affect victims mentally for a long time afterward. Innocent drivers can see a vehicle heading for them and have little time or room to steer clear of a frightening collision.

In 2019, 99 head-on collisions were documented across Santa Barbara County. Seven people tragically lost their lives in those accidents and an almost unbelievable 172 people were hurt as a result of those collisions.

Support for Santa Barbara Accident Victims

Victims in head-on collisions can be suffering from severe injuries after a serious crash. Broken bones, head trauma, soft tissue and organ damage can all result from a devastating accident. Victims can also be battling emotional trauma considering the terrible incident they’ve just been through. Victims can struggle to regain peace of mind after an accident and may also, understandably, question whether they want to get behind the wheel or in a car ever again.

All of these physical and lingering psychological hardships shouldn’t be the victim’s burden to bear alone. After an accident, those hurt are allowed to file a claim for damages against the drivers found to be to blame for an accident and their insurance representatives.

This civil lawsuit can ask an insurance company for help with things like medical expenses, missed time at work, and also compensation for counseling services. These personal injury cases overwhelmingly get settled out of court because insurance companies usually know better than to try to defend an at-fault driver’s mistake. If it is necessary to take your case before a judge and jury, an attorney working on your side will have evidence prepared and witnesses lined-up to have a strong case to present against an insurance company.
