Motorcycle Accidents At Turlock Intersections

Motorcyclists can be placed at risk during any encounter with a careless driver. Intersections are especially dangerous spots. For whatever reason, motorists can check for other vehicles approaching but fail to notice a motorcycle also at the intersection. They can turn right in front of riders, leaving them no room to avoid a devastating collision.

Turlock roads can make for dangerous rides for any motorcyclist. The city’s traffic incident numbers show the hazards riders face all year long. In 2019, across Turlock and Stanislaus County there were 136 accidents involving motorcycles. In those accidents, two riders lost their lives and another 153 victims suffered injuries.

All it can take is a second of inattention from a driver to put a motorcyclist at risk of a terrible collision.

Help for Families After A Motorcycle Accident

In the wake of tragic motorcycle accidents, the families left behind can be unfairly targeted by bill collectors and insurance agents, all over an accident that wasn’t the victim’s fault. A driver found at fault in a deadly crash should be the first in line to help a family suddenly without the emotional and financial support of a deceased loved one.

Families left to struggle in the wake of an accident are permitted to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible driver and his or her insurance company. This civil lawsuit won’t bring back a loved one, but it can earn compensation to help close relatives pay for things like hospital bills and funeral costs. The future of the family can also be protected with compensation for the loss of the paychecks the deceased victim would have provided through his or her employment. A spouse and children can also be awarded money for the loss of the love and care the victim would have provided throughout their lives.

A wrongful death claim can be filed by a spouse, domestic partner, or children of the victim on behalf of the entire family. An attorney can also file this lawsuit on behalf of the family and help gather evidence and documents needed to build a strong case against the at-fault driver. A strong case can force an insurance company to take a family’s financial and emotional hardships seriously.
