The Santa Maria Fire Department said the accident happened around 2 p.m. In photos provided by the Fire Department, the accident appeared to have involved a Toyota Camry and a mini-van. Rescue crews said that some victims had to be rescued from the damaged vehicles. Three patients were rushed to Marian Medical Center.
Santa Maria Police Department investigators continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident.
