The California Highway Patrol says that the 27-year-old driver of a Hyundai was speeding on the highway near 2nd Avenue when the vehicle struck the back of a Toyota. The impact sent both vehicles off the road. The Toyota rolled over and a 56-year-old woman in the passenger seat lost her life. The 51-year-old man at the wheel of the Toyota suffer major injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
The driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries. Investigators do not think drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. Their investigation continues.
