Before a lawsuit can be filed under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, notice of a tort claim must be filed with the federal government by the claimant or his or her representative. That claim must be filed within two years of the time that the cause of action arose. Causes of action under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act didn’t arise until August 10, 2022. That’s when President Joe Biden signed the legislation. As it became effective immediately, the deadline for filing federal tort claims under the act is August 10, 2024. What if the Claim is Denied
If the government denies your claim, a special statute of limitations exists.
